Although Strathmore Alliance Church was officially founded in 1962, its roots go back to a Sunday School outreach that started in 1934. This Sunday School mission, while reaching children in the Strathmore area, simultaneously raised money to support foreign missions. By the 1950’s, a weekly prayer meeting and Bible study was being held for the adults while a burden to establish an evangelical church in Strathmore was growing. In 1962 First Alliance Church in Calgary assisted in loaning a pastor so that evening services could begin to be held in the Strathmore Memorial Hall. The original building was erected that same year and the church had a regular attendance of 40 people. An addition to the building was completed in 1970, a new sanctuary was completed in 1985, and by 1988 additional pastoral staff were being added. By the late 1990’s Strathmore Alliance was taking leadership in some unique missions ventures which have been a blessing to the church.
